Portland Conservatories only sources and purchases its timber from suppliers who absolutely guarantee that their products and materials originate from mills that observe and commit to all relevant environmental and conservation laws within their country of origin.

We fundamentally believe and therefore are support the fact that sustaining forest reserves is critical for the continued prosperity and global environmental stability.

Through their accreditation to FSC and PEFC, all our suppliers’ sites hold "full chain of custody" for trade in certified products.

Timber is one of the few building and conservation materials that can truly claim to be a renewable resource - if well managed. Therefore our suppliers support forest certification as a valuable tool to demonstrate that timber products have originated in sustainable sources.

Our suppliers hold Responsible Timber Procurement Polices and are fully committed to encouraging and promoting sustainable forestry practices.
